Fresh from winning the German Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen, Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has joined the Super Eagles training camp in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital ahead of World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin.
Heritage Times HT reports that the team with up to 12 players had their first training on Saturday evening.
The players who trained inside the Godswill Akpabio Stadium included Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Raphael Onyedika, Terem Moffi and Samuel Chukwueze.
Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Benjamin Tanimu, Sodiq Ismail, Olorunleke Ojo and Stanley Nwabali also trained.
Late call-ups Kenneth Igboke and Ibrahim Olawoyin were also part of the workout, according to Super Eagles spokesman Promise Efoghe.
Earlier on Sunday, Heritage Times HT gathered that two more players teamed up with the rest of the squad.
They are Chidozie Awaziem and Alhassan Yussuf with total number of players in camp now 15.
The team are about now training as remaining players including Europa League hat-trick wonder and winner with Atalanta of Serie A Ademola Lookman are due to join up.
They face South Africa Friday night in Uyo, before a trip to Cote d’Ivoire on June 10 to tackle Benin.
