Tyson Fury reportedly met with Andy Ruiz to discuss his much anticipated heavyweight clash with Anthony Joshua, which is slated to take place in Saudi Arabia, two months from now.
After Fury and Joshua agreed financial terms for a two-fight deal in July and August this year, the Gypsy King has often tried demoralize his opponent with mind games.
Last month, Fury claimed to have swapped training for excessive drinking and had given up the idea of an undisputed decider with Joshua.
And this time around, Fury was able to engage Ruiz in a conversation in Las Vegas with the help of Jorge Capetillo, the trainer who shares a close bond with both heavyweights.
Fury’s latest move has become even more intriguing as the wait for the double-header clash continues, and it’s likely to give Joshua some sleepless nights.
“Tyson told Andy: ‘You were the first man to beat Joshua and now it will be my time too’,” Capetillo tells Sky Sports.
“Andy beat him. He knows.
“Andy truly believes Tyson will smash Joshua. I believe Fury has the bigger heart, more IQ and is the more skilful fighter.”
Fury, 31, hasn’t fought since knocking-out Deontay Wilder in February 2020.
While, Ruiz will be making a comeback against Chris Arreola next Saturday – his first fight since his defeat to Joshua, which he handed back the titles he shockingly won six months earlier.
