Tender Years (1) won the just concluded TerryWin Cup competition on Tuesday after beating Premier Football Academy 4-3 on penalties as Nathan Siasia emerged the tournament’s top scorer.
PFA had started the competition on a bright note; winning all their group fixtures including a walk over on Living Fountain after they pulled out of the competition.
The result ensured that Coach Benson’s tutored side finished top of group A with nine points – heading into the semi-final – where they saw off Tender Years (2) by a lone goal.
Nine-year-old Nathan, played a vital role in his team’s winning run, but his impressive performance could not save his side from defeat in the final following a 2-2 pulsating draw with Tender Years.
However, Siasia Jnr went home with the highest goal scorers’ award in the competition after scoring 5 goals in six games. While Koleola Benson won the best coach award having led PFA to the final unbeaten.
Nathan had entered the TerryWin Cup competition on the back of an incredible scoring record at the Easter Football School competition organized by Makinz Sports Promotions Ltd during the Easter holiday.
He scored a total of 17 goals in that tournament and was awarded the Most Valuable Player.
The TerryWin Cup – which started on Friday 28th May is an under 11 football tournament organized by Kazich School. The competition is aimed at creating an enabling environment for younger, skillful Nigerians in the game of football.
