Youths have established a helpline and an online radio platform named “Soro Soke” to aid the communication and coordination of EndSARS protesters nationwide. The Heritage Times learnt.
According to the protesters, the helpline is 01 700 1755.
“For the users, these are the prompt numbers: Press 1 for medical. Press 2 for legal. Press 3 for food and supplies. Press 4, 5, or 6 for mental health emergencies,” @fkabudu tweeted.
The online radio which is accessible through https://s4.radio.co/s99d55c85b/listen, features programmes and live reports of missing and found EndSARS protesters and other updates on the protests.
“Soro Soke,” a phrase in Yoruba translates as “Speak Up” became a catchword in the EndSARS campaign after protesters in Lagos State urged Babajide Sanwa-Olu to ‘soro soke’ whilst addressing the youths.
Soro Soke is also a metaphor for all Nigerians to speak up against bad governance and resist corrupt leaders.
In the course of the protest, The Heritage Times gathered that approach from the government and some business moguls to persuade the youths to leave the street had proved abortive owing to their unmet demands.
Among these demands include; the release of all arrested protesters, justice for all deceased victims of police brutality and appropriate compensation for their families.
