President Vladimir Putin of Russia, according to his counterpart in Kyiv, Volodymyr Zelensky, wants to “drown Ukraine in blood.”
The President of Ukraine claimed in an interview with journalists that Putin didn’t care if he killed Russians along with Ukrainians.
Zelensky declared: “He intends to drown Ukraine in blood, including the blood of his own men.”
Hours prior to the Ukrainian president’s remarks, Putin had announced a partial military mobilization, with 300,000 reservists expected to be called up to support the conflict in Ukraine.
Putin also insisted that his warning to deploy Russia’s WMDs if its territory was threatened was “not a bluff,” which increased the likelihood of a nuclear exchange.
Leaders from around the world have slammed Putin’s statements, but Zelensky insisted that he did not think that the world would permit Putin to deploy nuclear weapons and vowed to continue the liberation of Ukrainian territory that Russian soldiers had occupied.
“I don’t think he (Putin) will use these weapons. The world won’t likely permit him to utilize these weapons,” Zelensky predicted.
“Putin can declare tomorrow that, in addition to the Ukraine, we also want a piece of Poland; otherwise, we’ll use nuclear weapons. We are unable to accept these concessions.”
Following a quick counteroffensive in recent weeks, Ukraine has recovered large portions of its territory while causing increasing losses to Russian forces.
Zelensky asserts that Putin’s mobilization is a response to Russia’s military shortfalls. He notices that his troops are merely fleeing, Zelensky continued.
Additionally, he dismissed plans by four Russian-occupied regions of Ukraine to hold referendums on joining Russia later this month, calling them a “sham” that would not be recognized by most nations.
“We shall carry out our plans piece by piece. We will definitely liberate our territory,” he assured.
