A 25-year-old man from Budiriro 2, Fungai Mukamba, has found himself in trouble with the law after allegedly storming the New Parliament building in Mt Hampden on February 6, demanding a personal audience with President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Mukamba was arrested for disorderly conduct and has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance on February 24.
During the proceedings, the presiding magistrate ordered that Mukamba undergo a mental evaluation before further hearings.
According to Prosecutor Dzidzai Josiah, Mukamba became aggressive after being denied access to the Parliament grounds, prompting security personnel to intervene.
The incident has raised serious security concerns, particularly regarding an attempted breach of access to the President.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of Mukamba’s actions.
