Zimbabwe’s Primary and Secondary Education Minister, Evelyn Ndlovu has vowed to ensure that the Ministry’s vision of delivering quality education that addresses the need of the country through implementation of competence based curriculum, is met.
Ndlovu expressed her commitment after she was sworn into office by President Emerson Mnangagwa. She promised to ensure continuous learning, especially when the country alongside others across the globe are battling with the COVID-19 pandemic which has changed the usual other of doing things.
“My vision is to enhance the current competence based curriculum as we move towards development of the skills that are required for national growth and self-sustenance.
“I have an obligation to ensure that education is aligned to the broader vision of becoming a prosperous upper income middle nation by the year 2030.
“We have a vision of being the leading provider of 21st century inclusive quality education for socio-economic transformation.
“I am looking at harnessing Information Communication Technology (ICT) to ensure continuous learning and mitigate the effects of Covid-19 pandemic on the education sector,” she said.
Ndlovu comes into office with an illustrious career as a Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise and Cooperative Development for about 16 years.
